The Gifts of Indiana: A Tale of Three Birthdays and One Grand Adventure

"It's December 11, and twin siblings Anna and Bobby are excited to celebrate their tenth birthday. What Anna and Bobby don't realize is that they share their birthday with their home state: Indiana. After blowing out their birthday candles, the twins start to understand what it really means to leave a legacy and make a difference."

Throughout my senior year at Butler University, four education majors (including myself), a pharmacy major, and two business majors worked to bring about a children's book titled The Gifts of Indiana: A Tale of Three Birthdays and One Grand Adventure. While our student team crafted the book, my dad, Terry Luc, created the illustrations for the book, and an art + design major added watercolors to the cover artwork.

The book is due in April of 2015, and is aimed at fourth grade students, as Indiana state history is a fourth grade social studies standard. Our hopes and dreams for the book is that it encourages readers to leave their own legacies just like the historical Hoosier from the book.
