Ms. Luc in Action
On this page, you will find a collection of resources. These include samples of work Ms. Luc has done for classrooms, additional academic resources to enhance understanding and support at home, and more get-to-know-you facts about Ms. Luc!

Spring 2014 -- Two colleagues and myself in Reggio Emilia, Italy. During out free time, we took a quick stop to the bookstore to pick up on of our favorite books in Italian. When I travel abroad, I make an effort to bring back many different books to continue developing my understanding of the world around me.

Family Communication
Click here to view a sample newsletter. I value family communication, and I strive to connect with families in person, via phone and email communication, and a weekly newsletter (to name a few examples). This newsletter was written to parents at Sycamore Elementary School in Spring 2015.
Student Learning Support
Click here to view an inquiry packet that I designed for 5th grade students. We were researching individual explorers. I created this packet to support my students in organizing their own research, yet in a way that reached out to the multiple learning styles of the students in the classroom.
Conferring Documentation
Click here to view a sample note-taking sheet that I use when I confer with Kindergarten/1st grade students (I would adapt the sheet for older grades to ensure it is developmentally appropriate). I love this sheet because it allows me to organize a running record, celebration, and teaching points in one efficient sheet.
Lesson Planning
Click here to view a lesson plan that I wrote in my career at Butler University prior to student teaching. You will notice how in depth I planned this mathematics lesson. Although my lessons may look a bit different today, having experiences such as this has prepared me to think about the needs of all of my learners.
Click here to view a lesson plan that I wrote while teaching as a full time student teacher. The lesson format I used is borrowed from where I student taught at Eagle Creek Elementary School in Pike Township.
Ms. Luc as an advocate for Peacebuilding

Spring 2014 -- Visiting the Indianapolis Zoo. Together, my peers and I worked to create a collection of lesson plans for the Indianapolis Zoo to support teachers with instruction related to the International Orangutan Center.
An unknown fact about myself is my interest in integrating Peace and Conflict Studies into my classroom practices, dispositions, and behavior responses. Throughout my time at Butler University, I worked to receive a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. Integrating Peace Education will be an essential component for my classroom to ensure that students will have the ability to respond to situations in productive and peaceful matters.
